Itinerary

After breakfast we meet down the river behind the Ban Viengkham village, and basic instructions on kayaking tichniques and safety, we kayak down the NamPhak river, wich flows through long 4 kilometres and the river flows passing under two briges. Here kingfishers are heard so if we remain quiet in order to not scare them. We maybe able to catch a glimpse of these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. Start paddling a long the stunning riverside, enjoy floating down the river, take on rapids and beholding the amazing wilderness of the NamPhak river on right-hand side which sits on the banks of the river, the river has its strongest flow from September to Fibuary. The river features several sections of swift rapids before arriving where the NamPhak and Namkor rivers meet continuing onwards until arriving HadAen, where a village will be enjoying picnic lunch, walk around the village to see their lifestyle and touching their lives by talking to villagers, before departing. TukTuk will take you back to town.

Arrive at a traditional Khmu house. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by the community and participate in a traditional Baci Ceremony- a centuries-old ritual of tying white

cotton strings around your wrists to invite goodluck, health, and harmony. This is a deeply meaningful way to connect with Khmu culture. In the evening: enjoy a home-cooked dinner featuring authentic Meuangla dishes. Then gather around a campfire or in the village hall to watch a captivating local folk art performance– Traditional dance, music with instruments like theKhene, and possibly storytelling dances. (Especially, you have a chance to participate in a Khmu New Year Festival, also known as BounGrer, is one of most important cultural celebrations of the Khmu people in Lao. It is held every year from January 01 to 10. During the festival, people wear traditional Khmu clothing and gather in their villages to take part in cultural activities).

  • Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill it the next day
