Day1: Meuangla-Ban SaMaKhixay trekking-Ban Tanongpor homestay
This 3-day challenging trek touches on several natural attractions including water flowing from a natural fountain, Singkham Buddha Cave, Luang Cave, a pristine limestone forest, and the HouaiKhai Waterfall. Start the day’s 4-hour trek from Ban SaMaKhixay, and reach Singkham Cave in 60 minutes. Continue through the forest as the local guide explains traditional hunting skills, shares his knowledge of the secrets of medicinal plants, and provides details on local farming. The day ends at Ban Tanongpor (khmu) for a homestay.
Day2: Ban Tanongpor trekking to Ban Phavee Khmu homestay
Begin your 6-hour march to BanPhavee, with plenty to explore on the way. Stop at sizeable ThamLuang Cave, said to have sheltered 500 locals during the Indochinese War amaid its décor of limestone formations. The trail continues through a forest of tall bamboo to BanPavee and your homestay, while trekking Your guide will also share knowledge about local plants, wildlife, and traditional uses of forest resources, and enjoy the fresh mountain air, and ascend ridges offering panoramic valley views. Arrive in time for a bath at a small pool, before a traditional khmu dinner with the village headman and elders for an insightful cultural interchange.
Day3: Ban Phavee trekking to MeaungLa
After breakfast, start walking from village to HouayKhai waterfall. See the waterfall, take a short break to take memorable photos, enjoy the natural surroundings of waterfall and explore the area. Continue walking to see the rock and big tree, enjoy the natural scenery. and then return to the Phavy Village. 11:30 Start trekking follow the HouayKhai River, along a stream leads to road to hot springs and Bhudda image. A vehicle will be waiting to take you back to town. Join the locals in soaking in the warm, mineral-rich water (temperature can reach over 45°C/113°F).
