Itinerary:
Morning(8:30 AM): Pick up from your guesthouse. Our guide will meet you at your accommodation and transfer you to the trailhead. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside about halfway. (approx. 1-1.5 hour drive)
Late Morning: Begin your walking on the scenic stream trail 2-3 hours, during the way we will see daily lives of local people, how they are working in rice fields on the mountain and ETC, cross the small streams, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and ascend ridges offering panoramic valley views. Arrive in the Phavee Village, Khmu tribe. You will learn about their daily lives, traditions, and how they use plants for food and medicine then walk to HouayKhai waterfall.
Lunch(12:30 pm): Enjoy a picnic lunch amid nature at a waterfall. And continue walking to see the rock and big trees. Your guide also shares knowledge about local plants, wildlife, and traditional uses of forest resources. Return to the Phavee Village and follow the HouayKhai river. Arrive back at the trail, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to town.
Afternoon: Arrive at a traditional Viengkham village. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by the community and take part in a sacred Baci Ceremony or Soukhuan Ceremony – a centuries-old ritual of tying white cotton strings around your wrists to invite goodluck, health, and harmony. This is a deeply meaningful way to connect with Lao culture.
Evening: Savour a home-cooked dinner featuring authentic Lao dishes. Then gather around a campfire or in the village hall to watch a captivating local folk art performance– Traditional dance, music with instruments like the Khene, and possibly storytelling dances.
Drop-off at your guesthouse.
