Detailed Daily Trekking Itinerary

  • Morning: Fuel Up and Setting Off       Meet up, gear check, and travel to the starting point, and where the Vang Ieng bridge, before trek getting briefing by the local guide, stretching, and beginning the trek on the road. First visit Bo Kuea and experience the natural hot springs 10 mins, and next visit local village Ban Vang Van, Khmu ethnic group, and walk around the village 15 mins to learn about their lifestyle, culture and language. And keep walking uphill on the road until reach the mountain hiking up point. Start hiking up the mountain and tackling steep mountain ridges. This is the most physically demanding part – focus on steady breathing and peace coordination. While hiking up we will see the War trench and through the lush forests(short water breaks every 20-30 minutes). Arrive the summit viewpoint, and rest at the peak to enjoy the panoramic views, a breathtaking aerial view of Muang La and eat a packed lunch. After that continue hiking down from the summit toward the valley, the trail becomes cooler, shaded by large tropical trees. Sometimes you will meet wild squirrels, deer, birds, etc, have been reported. If you walk quietly, and luck is on your side, you might hear and see them, besides this you have the chance to see local villagers going about their daily lives-working in their farms and gardens, foraging for food, and gathering wild vegetables and bamboo shoots from the forest. You will see traditional field huts by local farmers as resting places while working in their rice fields, the guide will explain local way of life, plants, wildlife, and traditional uses of forest resources. You hike through rice paddies, and arrive at the trail. A vehicle will be waiting to take you back.
